IMMUNITY

Immunity is the capability to resist harmful microorganisms from entering the body.

Immunity involves both specific and nonspecific components.

While Non-specific Immunity acts at the first line and blocks every foreign body at superficial level, allowing the body to analyze and prepare the Specific Protection Mechanism.

When functioning properly, the immune system identifies & distinguishes foreign bodies from the body's own healthy tissue.

If fails, it leads to Autoimmune Conditions i.e.; producing Antibodies against once own Cells.

The inner and outer surfaces of the body like skin and all mucous membranes are the first barriers against pathogens (germs), a kind of mechanical protective wall.

Immunity TYPES: 4

Innate immunity....... Basic birth Immunity

Adaptive (acquired) immunity.......Learned as age and exposure increases
